When Zully found out she was pregnant at age 16, she realized she faced an uncertain future. Her high school counselor told her about YFC Parent Life, and although she was nervous and didn’t know anyone, she came to her first Parent Life meeting and met the YFC staff and volunteer team.
This connection opened up other doors to Zully. She grew close to Misty from YFC, but we also strive to partner with other agencies who help support teen parents. When her son Adriel was born, Parent Life, Charis Pregnancy Center, and the InSPIRE Coalition came together to help Zully with her school work and provide motivation and childcare.
At Charis, she began a journey with Denise who mentored Zully, babysitting and advocating for her, as YFC supported and encouraged along the way. Through this collaboration, it was beautiful to watch their friendship grow, see obstacles overcome, and celebrate Zully as she graduated high school. Furthermore, Denise was also able to connect her with a church for ongoing growth, support, and community.
