Alicia’s Story

I guess you could say I was a pretty good kid. But when I found myself pregnant at age 17, I felt alone with no one to relate to. That changed when I started attending YFC Parent Life. I found mentors who would talk about anything without judging me, and leaders who were always there. It was also really helpful for my boyfriend, Andrew. We would attend together, and it gave him a chance to open up and get things off of his chest, especially as a teen dad. Parent Life has helped me in so many ways. I'm still working on it, but I feel like I have become a better mom to Elena, any my relationship with God has grown. I graduated high school at semester, and earned my Assistant Childcare Teaching Certificate, a goal I never dreamed would be possible. Right now I feel like I am in a great place in my life with Andrew and Elena, and look forward to the future God has for us! I will always be thankful for the leaders of Parent Life who helped me overcome challenges, grow as a person, and pursue my dreams.
